What is a Country Facilitator and what do they do?

Cut the Carbon provides a venue for low-emission countries to critically challenge the lack of urgency of the plans of high-emission countries. Our website will host and build each country’s community-generated emission reduction plans. Discussions will be held on our official Discord server. Each country will have a Country Facilitator who will lead discussions and debates. This voluntary role is flexible to the schedule of the Country Facilitator and their communities.

Roles and Responsibilities

A Country Facilitator:

  • Updates their community’s carbon emissions page on the website
  • Updates their country’s existing plans for reducing carbon emissions on the website
  • Reaches out to members of their community to join discussions on Discord
  • Manages their country’s channel on the official Discord server
    • Admits members to the server
    • Schedules and moderates discussion meetings (if they choose to have live discussions through video or audio meetings)
  • Records and collates plans to be uploaded on the website

Country Facilitators are also invited to contribute to our blog where they can discuss any climate change topic, environmental news in your country, or even press releases from organizations they are affiliated with.
